few hours spent in a children's house

On Saturday, we went to a children's house in Dolni Pocernice.
It was interesting, exciting, strange at the same time.

3 years ago, I used to go to a children's club that situated in Pardubice and offering free time activities for gypsy kids. That was quite unique experience, just to play, sing, dance with kids aged 5-15. It has opened a lot my eyes about this community and helped me understand at least a bit their perception
of living.

This Saturday, it was a bit similar, although these kids are from "different world". You know, now you stand in front of young guys aged 5-17, who live in children's house, who have different reasons for being there. You offer them something, they accept it "their" way...soon you find out, if meeting these guys just somewhere in a city, you would not say they were raised up in a children's house.

Going there, it might be a big clash with "reality" for those who have expectations and prejudices.
Going there, it might bring you to thinking of "why?" related with anything.
Going there, it might be an unusual day spent outside of Prague.

For me personally, it was just a new input to think of my role in the community I live in.

PS: We took some pix there, as well. My role was to teach some of them taking a picture. You see some of the funny results in the slide show. I like it! ;-)
